An Unexpected Visitor
This morning, looking out the window at the greenbelt behind our house, my eyes met other eyes.
Looking in at me was a barred owl, as I looked out at him.
At ease in his world, the owl groomed his feathers, rested, preened again, looked at us (Phil had joined me), and was in no hurry to leave. We were almost giddy with delight.
Our bond with the natural world is still deep and instinctive, no matter how much technology we surround ourselves with. May it be so forever.
