The Canongate Kirk from Calton Hill

I had a pleasant wander around Edinburgh today whiling away an hour or so before meeting up with marchmont. Took a load of photos beforehand battery gave up, but this was my favourite. The Canongate kirk was opened in 1691 so it's been there for a long time. Zara Phillips, the Princess Royal's daughter was married there a year or so ago as was my niece. I like this rear view as it has a sense of history with its old gravestones and monuments.

It's been a grand day, and Ann and I have a super catch up over a few, well several, glasses of wine and a tasty carry out. So definitely time for bed so that I can function at my conference tomorrow - oops today!
