View from the top

I took a walk up through our woods today to check on the storm damage after last nights storm - remarkably, there was relatively little damage - except this tree here.

The view from the top of our woods is still one I walk up to insufficiently - with the view of the valley leading down to Bassenthwaite Lake (the only "lake" in the Lake District - as all the others are "meres" or "waters".

our tree surgeons were in today, so they had plenty to keep them busy.
