Wide Wednesday Architecture

This is the street where  I work (apart from a 2 year pandemic stint of working from home … and home is certainly nowhere near as grand!) - Royal Terrace in Edinburgh.

Part of Edinburgh’s New Town, the terrace was designed by William Playfair between 1820 and 1824. It is a continuous straight structure of about 360 metres and is probably the longest Georgian terrace in Europe. More information can be found here

Although the buildings may not have an ideal layout for modern offices, I do feel privileged to work in such beautiful surroundings. Mind you, the trek up four flights of stairs from a visit to colleagues in the basement to my office on the top floor does sometimes require the assistance of Sherpa Tenzing and a supply of oxygen!
