"The Horror"
On This Day In History
1969: Bloody ten day battle at Hamburger Hill begins
Quote Of The Day
"They moved through an apocalyptic, surreal landscape. All that remained to the triple-canopy jungle were rows of jagged tree trunks, surrounded by a muddy stew of splintered logs, bamboo, vines and tree branches. Scattered everywhere were pith helmets, pieces of clothing, bloody bandages, blankets, AK47s, stick-handled grenades and RPG and mortar rounds. North Vietnamese also littered the mountaintop."
(Samuel Zaffiri, Hamburger Hill)
Starting my new read today having finished reading Fall, Or Dodge In Hell yesterday.
It seems somewhat fitting for these dark times of sinister and bloody clowns.
