View up the Irwell

We had a plan and the plan was this: go for a bite to eat, go to The Everyman and watch 'Doctor Strange in the Multitude of Madness', and then meet Yoss for a drink at Porta on the way back home.

The first part of the plan went without a hitch, and we ate at La Bandera, where we had some fantastic prawns, which was a big deal for the Minx as she loves prawns but only if they are not at all crunchy (and most are, if only a bit).

Things derailed a little at The Everyman, when we realised that we hadn't actually bought tickets, and the showing was now sold out. So we had a glass of wine there while we regrouped, and then, in the end, went to meet Yoss, albeit earlier than planned, for drinks at Porta. (I took this photo looking east as we crossed the bridge back into Salford.)

And do you know what? I was actually happier with that than if we'd seen the film.
