Whitby

Went up to Whitby today. As always, the place is nice and very photogenic.
The journey there took double what was expected. Roadworks and completely screwed up traffic lights in Scarborough causing much delays. Following painfully slow fully laden petrol tankers adding to frustration.
Car parking is a nightmare. As you would expect, some of the carparks were rammed.
It was impossible to pay in several others. Expensive to the point that available coins were insufficient. Card readers were not working. So, again, forced to download another app. 
Loos cost 40p a go, and machines take cash but give no change. A visit for two can cost £2. Had to resort to card payments again. 
Many food places closed or not serving food.
Sadly, a bit of a disappointment, except of course, for the place itself.
But, just the sight of a you child playing on the beach with their parent was worth seeing and watching. 
Would love to do some more planned photography there, but, I have to say, just getting there seems too great a pain to undertake. Its popularity is of course much of the problems. However - More welcoming places await.
