Heritage

Ulmarra is a small town on the Clarence River in northern NSW. It was established as a river port in the mid-1800s. The local economy was then based on cedar cutting (of Red Cedar, Toona australis, which provided high quality timber, prized for furniture - there is very little left!) and dairying. The town is classified by the National Trust.

We called in today for lunch at the pub. Then continued the final 100 km back home, after our driving trip to Canberra and the Central West. We would have stayed away a couple more days, but the weather forecast is for lots of rain later this week.
