Scilla peruviana
Named for the boat that brought it from Portugal! A late flowering spring bulb which produces huge heads of flowers from large bulbs that like to be planted in a hot spot and left alone. These are in a polystyrene box, a 'temporary' measure that has lasted almost two years now. I'll find a spot for some in the garden later this year.
Chores, admin, phone calls. The morning became more productive when a call came in form an OT in Birmingham ... unrelated to the email I had sent them an hour earlier! The upshot is that I am off there again tomorrow for a meeting with the OT who will do do an assessment for the adaptations Ruth needs.
After lunch a visit to the garage to discuss the latest and hopefully last repair needed to get the air-con working again. R & J suffer in the heat so although my first inclination when it failed was not to bother, it's not really negotiable. Then Meg and I finally made it to the top of the hill beyond Hendy. Great views (extra pic), shame about the indifferent weather. Later Jamie and I explored the garden courtyard at the flats where he lives. All beautifully tended by one of the residents, Jamie will be able to use the greenhouse there to grow tomatoes and peppers this summer. Makhani Chicken for tea, which we cooked together and an early night for us all.
