The Forgotten Man

It was not set up to be my kind of day.

For a start it's Monday and Mondays are usually awful.

I had an appointment to run some tests on my (still) comically swollen ankle - the timing of the appointment was rubbish because it meant travelling into town with a thousand hyper school kids - a source of unending noise and flatulence.  Not fun.

The weather produced the first really hot day of the year and the city centre offers little shade.  I was very hot and bothered when I got to the surgery.  But the woman who runs all of these tests didn't let me sit in the (non-air-conditioned) waiting room, I was taken straight into the room and the tests were finished about 10 minutes later.  I was told to wait until the Doctor had seen the results and then I could go....

An hour and 5 minutes later someone turned up and said "Oops, we forgot about you".

I have a talent for being forgotten.

Anyway the tests showed nothing untoward - my circulation is strong and working as expected.

So I left and went to get the bus home.

I just missed my preferred bus and so I had to wait for the bus that I loathe - it is the Loser Cruiser nonpareil.  It was already 5 minutes late when I looked at the board so I was quite lucky that it turned up in 10.  It was also full - mainly with stupid people as far as I can tell.  It then proceeded to get stopped at every traffic light...

All I could think of all the way home was - I couldn't do this every day.  It would make me sick in less than a week.

Today's Blip is the view I had out of the window in the examination room.
