Erythronium

This poor Erythronium "Pagoda" got snapped off by the gales a couple of nights ago. I decided to see if the buds would open, and stuck it into this glass and put it on my mantlepiece. I saw that it was opening this afternoon, and the sun was casting these lovely shadows, so there was my picture of the day.
