Road side flowers
As with yesterday we had a misty start to the day clearing away to a warm afternoon and evening. Geoff the robot grass cutter looks weary after a day of roaming his area, very different to our way at home of no grass cutting in May and possibly June. Geoff, named by his owner, is set to leave buttercup and daisies in his area and all around the edge is left to grow at will. We love the roadside verges here with a range of flowers, plants and grasses although how Solomons Seal found it’s way there we can only guess.
Yesterday morning when walking Charlie we spotted a deep red pointed flower, possibly clover growing around the edge of a crop of what could be haylage, I forgot the camera this morning, the zoom on the phone is not as good, only to find the crop had been cut yesterday afternoon - the occasional red flower head could be seen peeping through the laid out grass.
