Virginia

My Mother's name was Virginia. She had deep Irish roots and so...named me Maura. I don't know much about her since a heart attack took her from me when she was 36 and I was 4. My father, who took this photo, never spoke of her to me. I guess because his grief was so great. I got to know her brother, my Uncle Ronald, decades later. He shared his memories of her and passed on many photos of happier times. Ronald is gone now as well and I have no contact with others in their family. I know that my Mother was a kind and gentle soul, she was very creative and appreciated art. I have very few personal memories because I was so young. But I remember she and I making Christmas ornaments and her painting Christmas scenes on our large mirror above the couch. If your Mother is still with you, let her know how much you treasure her. If she has left this realm, honor her memory with every breath you take.
Happy Mothers' Day!
