Felt like summer today , thermometer said a balmy 16 degrees but more like 24 on the sheltered sunny patio at Terries. Dressage workshop in the morning , shared lesson with Emily , lunch and then test. Lesson was very good and Daisy going very well, then the test was mostly disappointing with a lot of mistakes and few excellent moments , but that’s where we learn ! And I was fine with it . The carb heavy lunch with extra choc Mars bar crispy cakes didn’t help . I think they were Emily’s secret weapon to floor her competitors !!
Home for shower and out to Rita’s 50th . What a night to party, warm sunny eve and then indoors to dance . Rita opened a 50 year bottle of wine given to her as a new baby - to be saved for her 50th , it’s a Portuguese custom. We all had a thimbleful. What to say…. She’s aged much better than the wine !
Spoke with my sister in law who was due to come for a weeks holiday next week. She’s a broken leg and ripped tendons in her ankle needing pinning . She fell down Scafel Pike, just starting the descent. It involved 14 mountain rescuers taking 4 hours to get her down on a stretcher . She’s pretty shook up poor thing, she doesn’t do handing her power over to others very easily. When I spoke to her she’d left hospital , was in the back of a car on a 6 hour drive ,broken leg immobilised, pain killers taken and on her way home to Essex to have surgery near to home asap rather than in Lake District ! Get well soon Miss C x
