Eid
Kenya and Tanzania have another public holiday today for Eid al-Fitr, the end of Ramadan. It was largely stormy and humid and I was experiencing the strange sensation of the onset of a cold, after a few years without one. I am suspecting that all the hand-shaking at last week’s workshop (more than across the rest of the Covid period combined, not that I was keeping a specific tally) has contributed to it.
Gugs has an interesting open plan house that has an upper floor with a big veranda to the world, with just some metal grills separating the living space from the world. This is where I chilled for most of the day, except for a late afternoon wander under the overcast sky.
