A lovely spot to spend the night
Friday.
It rained heavily all night but luckily stopped in time for us not to get a soaking on our walk along the lochside to Moy Castle then on for an apt circular walk to a stone circle and standing stones which were very squelchy to reach after all the rain.
We drove the long 8 mile very narrow single track road back with no mishaps, then continued on the 19 miles on another single track much busier road to Fionnphort. It was a lovely drive and the sun came out so we saw Mull at its best for a few hours The ferry car park was full so we continued southwards for a few miles to a beautiful camp site (£20 a night, no hook up, but there is water and waste disposal) right on the beach. 40 or 50 other vans were parked up, but the field is large so it didn’t feel crowded. I’m surprised so many vans are about - it will be heaving in the summer.
We had a walk along the beach before I tried out the gas oven for the first time, to roast some veg and heat up a quiche. Never again - it took ages!
Luckily I did yesterday’s blip en route as despite my phone saying 4G and having full signal I have no connection. Maybe EE doesn’t reach here. Sorry have been unable to see Blip till now at the Fishnish ferry.
