Concentration

LooseCanon organised a blip meet at Whichford Pottery today. Nine of us went.

After the obligatory coffee and cakes we went in to the pottery workshops. The potters  were happy to talk and chat about their work and we were able to take photos. These are expensive hand made and decorated frost proof garden pots, in a vast range of sizes, up to some a person could hide inside costing thousands!
The clays come from Ironbridge, Blockley , quite close by,  and I think Suffolk. This gives a suitable blend . It's mixed together in a giant mixer and weighed into lumps to be turned. It can get quite messy! First extra.
They are busy making pots for Chelsea flower show at the moment, including some they were rather secretive about for some famous garden designer for his Chelsea display.
The finished pots are displayed in their beautiful garden and many of them contained a huge array of colourful tulips. Second extra.
We had lunch there in the lovely cafe and most of us had bought something, although we didn't get too carried away!
