Silly Saturday

What came first? The chicken or the egg? 

Thanks for organising and hosting silly Saturday Davidc (in memory of Admirer). 

This is the start of my lunch. I added lettuce, cottage cheese, nuts, seeds and dried fruit. 

I have been eating home made muesli for a few years but I’m having a break and eating porridge. Everyone says it’s easy to cook it in the microwave. Agreed. So to save washing a saucepan I’ve been testing times and quantities, each day getting a bigger bowl in case it overflows. I like it well cooked. Today my effort was unsuccessful, half boiled over so I only had half quantity. The plate was such a mess I had to put it on another plate. I had to wash the microwave, microwave tray, dish, under dish plate, top cover, tablecloth, two pot holders and my jumper. Bob says do it in a big bowl, well I may as well do it in a saucepan and be done with it. I also got porridge smeared on my jeans but they were not changed. 

It’s leaf raking season. The council street sweeper/vacuum comes along our street every second day so I have left a pile about knee high for him tomorrow. We have mature plane trees and they are huge with leaves up to a foot wide. 

Maddy is here for a few hours. Leo has been sick all week with a virus (non Covid). Kristy and Max have Covid so I won’t be surprised if the others catch it. Just what she needs after the funeral on Tuesday. We have had a test and so far so good.
