Happy Mother's Day!
Although in Finnish it's in plural, mothers' day.
The silhouette of a granite statue/fountain overlooks Hämeenpuisto boulevard.
It dates from 1913, and was designed by Emil Wikström (1864-1942).
Detailed photos of the whole can be found on this page of the city of Tampere.
Actually the uppermost figure of the fountain, and the one in my picture, is Pohjola's Daughter (daughter of Northland), and therefore no mother but a mythical maiden. But her view over the boulevard reminded me of the watchful eye of mothers in general.
