Sidewalk Blossom

It was "teacher appreciation week," and although I didn't win the raffle, it was still nice to have various treats laid out for us over the last several days. Buttering me up with free food is definitely a good motivational strategy. This morning there were also little drawings and positive messages chalked out on the walkways around the building. I amused myself by turning one into today's photo.

Of course I was asked by several students what all the fuss was about, and why it was appropriate for teachers to be walking around with bagels and coffee if it wasn't being offered to everyone. When I pointed out they were being daily bestowed with the treasured gift of learning from a dedicated group of the most forbearing people they were ever likely to meet, I got mostly blank looks.
