Giant tulips!

While I have been away I was pleased to see that my tulips have grown ….the ones in this photo I blipped previously on 26th April, the flowers are now huge and a darker red colour, see extra with my hand to see the size. Interestingly in the same pot I had some smaller parrot tulips and these have flowered and gone over in a week so this is a better variety for future reference ‘Avignon parrot’. While I was in Holland I have seen many many tulips and so many different varieties but I did not spot these. I would say the tulips there are at least two weeks behind those here and the parrot tulips are the last to flower there too.
I am pleased that my garden is looking fine due to my husbands diligent watering! The hostas are looking good now.
