the joys of rural life

We live opposite a dairy farm and our house is surrounded by fields full of cows. In the winter, they are kept indoors, but after Easter, they are let out into the fields. Twice a day, they are taken into the sheds to be milked. This is them being let out again into the field at just before 8am. I was walking to catch the bus to work and everyone had to wait until the long procession had passed by. Quite a few of the cows stopped and came over to see me. I got very wet as I couldn't get into the bus shelter out of the rain.

Surprisingly, I wasn't late for work. We had a busy day in the cafe and I was on Meet and Greet, which entails being on your feet for hours at a time. I'm back on Friday fasting, which made it an extra challenge, but I'm home now and I've sat in the garden with a cup of tea (sun is out) and finished my book.

Have a good weekend, everybody!
