Green-winged Orchids

Spent this morning wandering at Bernwood Meadows just outside Oxford - at this time of year there are literally thousands of green-winged orchids. An absolutely fantastic sight - and a reminder of what hay meadows used to look like. These ones are managed by BBOWT, and are mowed in the late summer to ensure conditions remain right for the orchids (and cowslips and cuckoo-flower amongst many others).
