A night at the theatre

Ian and I went to see Mike Bartlett's new play 'The 47th' at The Old Vic this evening. What a banging night of theatre that was.

Imagine Shakespearean prose interspersed with Trump speak.

'The 47th' takes contemporary US politics for a hypothetical walk into the future, much in the same was as Bartlett and director Rupert Goold did with 'King Charles III'.

The staging was amazing and performances spot on, especially Bertie Carvel's Trump and Tamara Tunie's Kamala Harris.

I saw Carvel as Rupert Murdoch in 'Ink'. Great play but he didn't quite get Murdoch. This time there is no mistake.
