Sailors corner

After a busy morning job hunting, I had had enough of computers and went for a stroll around the local cemetry. It's a place of tranquility in the city. I have blipped this before and I did look at a lot of other places and took a few shots, but my camera isn't good enough for the shots I wanted too put up.

Arnos Vale is the last resting place for servicemen and women from all over the world, including Australians, Canadians, New Zealanders, Norwegians, Indians, South Africans and a Pole.

Bristol was the fifth heaviest bombed city during the Second World War. 77 air raids killed 1,299 local people, more than 300 are buried in Arnos Vale.
