woven

This afternoon, sarah and I went to see the Textiles Triennial exhibition at Gracefield Arts Centre in Dumfries. This is the joint showing of work by the Guild of Spinners, Dyers and Weavers, Textile and Embroidery Dumfries and the Solway Quilters. As always, there was a great deal of talent on display, and a lot of work which had been completed during lockdown. The spinning and weaving is always my favourite part of the exhibition, and I particularly liked this throw made in rainbow colours by Fiona Moir.

After this, we went on to a Christmas Party! This was another event which had been postponed due to last year's lockdown - the "Christmas Night In" for staff, trainees and volunteers at The Usual Place. The young people, in particular, had been eagerly anticipating the disco and the visit by the Mobile Fish & Chip Van. We stayed long enough to see them all having fun, but as I don't like loud noise (sounding like a moaning OAP here!), we left well before the end and came home for tea.

I've just been out to check for slugs - one of my broad bean seedlings has been destroyed at the base. Keep calm and carry on....
