This afternoon’s dog walk was much more pleasant than the morning’s soggy walk! The light through the trees was lovely this evening.

“Someone” found 2 diseased Larch trees in our woods and it feels like the woods have been decimated over those 2 diseased trees. For each diseased Larch tree found they have to remove all the Larch trees within a 200m radius… apparently. All the trees have been felled and the collection is taking place which is opening up paths again. And none of the felled trees are showing signs of disease.

There’s been a lot going on in Cambusbarron over the last 5-6 months - the felling of diseased trees, the road being built into the quarry (which has meant more trees felled and it means they will be blasting soon) and the new housing development. Some locals are not happy with it all. It used to be a quiet place…
