The blue and the red

Watched a few birds this morning.  The blue jay is almost too big for the shallow bird bath but he was having a good splash.  No time to comb his hair before I took the photo of his spikes!

The cardinals have been noticing me through the window even though I try to sneak over to the side.  You can see in the second shot the male has his eye on me and may be chirping a few choice words about leaving them alone!   

Super hot and humid but I did get some weeding done in the new flower bed early this morning.  I was still soaked with sweat from the humidity.   When the sun goes down behind the trees this evening I will water and spread out some mulch.   

Enjoyed my coffee on the screened in porch this morning at daybreak.  Already feels like summer here so once the sun was up it heated up quickly.     The a/c has been running for days now with a little relief from the heat at night.   Typical May in South Carolina!
