boring but finished
As a backdrop the wall is now significantly less textured and eye-pleasing than it was previously though it can now be forgotten about and have things put back in front of it. Further attentions should include only a refit of a skirting-board at some unspecified point in the future and re-attachment of the pipes to the radiator sometime before next winter.
I was hoping that the achievement of a presentable-looking set of walls would mean the end of the current work-flurry but apparently it would be improper to have a set of parents visit a flat where the kitchen cupboards were sitting on the floor underneath the window rather than hanging on the wall. At the moment the list has expanded to include re-attaching the metal grid things to the kitchen walls but should hopefully not expand further thereafter and might not even include re-attaching the metal grid things if the brackets aren't immediately visible as they're certainly not taped to the larger of the two grid things, currently squeezed between the wardrobe and a wall. Before either can proceed (cupboards having to be first) a trip to shop is required to restock on Rawlplugs as I only have cavity toggles left. I could probably do with a better drill and a better masonry bit too in order to get the holes to be at least vaguely where they're intended to be but shall try with the existing stuff first.
