Taxi!

A bit of a strange sign to see on a tractor, and I don't think I'd fancy a ride because it would be rather bumpy ...

The Corporation of London Conservators of Epping Forest were at work on the Green this morning as we walked across it. This chap was mowing the rough wide paths that have been created to make it easier to walk across it and a second, much smaller vehicle, was using its superior manoeuvrability to mow around trees and near to the pavement (see extra). I was a bit sad to see that he was mowing down a strip of Queen Anne's Lace which had previously made a beautiful soft border between the busy High Road and the open space of the Green.
