Runner John Kelly set off from Keswick this morning in an attempt to break the record for the 214 Wainwright peaks - the 535Km long, 36,000 feet of ascent challenge is currently held by Sabrina Verjee at 5 days 23 hours and 49 minutes (and 12 seconds)

John Kelly is an American, who has lived in the Lakes since 2019 and is an Ultra runner. The photo shows him approaching Stonethwaite accompanied by Steve Birkenshaw - himself a Wainwright record holder of the past.

Makes my year-long attempt look a bit feeble!

That said, we did manage Stonethwaite Fell (Bessyboot) today to increase our total
