Cup and Wood

Minyo Crusaders - Yasuhiko Bushi

Today I had the day off with my wife. Very fun time just eating together with her then her family later in the evening. Talked wholeheartedly with some nice drinks and had a great time. A few generations together to spend time. I’m lucky.

On the way home we passed by a new restaurant that’s yet to open. The owner was one of the head chefs at the local ramen shop, Manchinken (we always go there). He left the restaurant to start his own business nearby. The intimate place will open soon and will serve bespoke food with a menu that won’t actually be used. The studio style restaurant has a relaxed feel with closeness of a bar. My wife and I are familiar with the chef because we always go to the local ramen shop (it always has long lines into the late night), and passing by we see him and say hello. This time he invited us in to get a sneak peak of what will come. We spoke for about an hour and talked about the inspiration for the place. He was preparing lot of spices and vegetables and gave us an introduction to the space, furniture, plates, glasses and bowls. There will be so much being served and seasonal dishes. Reading people and serving food for character and the occasion. I can’t wait to eat there when it’s fully opened. It’s already fully booked for two weeks. The place is called IloIlo and is going to be something very special.
