Chobham May Carnival

After an absence of two years due to Covid restrictions, Chobham was back to celebrating the coming of May with its May Day Bank Holiday carnival. The carnival procession, led by a band of pipers, followed by these magnificent dray horses, wended its way from the rugby club through the High Street and into the packed recreation ground. The Chobham Morris dancers were also back to their traditional best, seen in the extra photo following the vintage truck. I have never seen Carnival so well attended but I did manage to get a pint of Chobham Mighty Ale when the beer tent queue eventually got a little shorter.
