Diary of an Edinburgher

Pink snow…

I decided to take Archie for a walk in the morning instead of going to the gym (8,743 steps, 345 cals, 122 minutes) as he was going to be in the house on his own in the afternoon. We walked along the Meadows to the cafe on the corner - only been there once before. Archie did not relax, even though the waiter brought him some treats. And it wasn’t particulary noisy. But boy! He gave me what for when we got outside. He’s dead funny when he lets you know that he’s very pi**ed off at you - sort of yowling, banging his head on my legs, grabbing his lead and shaking it vigorously. Quite a scene!

I was very near my bus stop, and my bus was just coming, but no - I resisted, and we set off walking back across the Meadows. I can’t resist having another look at the blossom while it’s still there. In fact, it looked like it was pink snow at one point. Apologies for yet another blossom pic, but they’ll soon be gone…

We called in to see Dougal and his mum. Dougal had just arrived home from his dog walking morning. Christine is having her lounge painted, and then new furniture, carpet etc, which she’s been pondering over a long time. Archie and Dougal just sniffed each other (no growling from A). Christine was holding Dougal, but it’s an improvement…

In the afternoon JR was going off for lunch with some of her gym buddies, and although the restaurant was dog friendly, it was easier to leave Archie at home with his bone. I’m sure he was happier.

I went off for my Covid Spring Booster, which seems to be because I’m immunocompromised because of my bowel cancer incident a few years ago (there are three missing days in my blip history) hence I’m getting the booster along with the over 75s. Thanks NHS!

I took the bus across town, and it took 50 minutes! Town is being dug up all over the place. Poor bus drivers! But I listened to my music all the way, and quite enjoyed the trip. I was in and out of the Covid place in minutes, and back on the same bus (it was the terminus) to come home. Job done.

Archie is off on his wee holiday tomorrow, and we have an exciting event planned.
