B******s!
Very short Blip.
My elderly mother has been burgled tonight in Hadfield. Exactly one year since the last time.
This was how they got in.
It's going to be a long night with the police, scenes of crime and the insurance.
Sorry folks, too bloody angry at this moment in time.
Update.....Thursday morning
First apologies for the rant. Two young burglars entered the house last night by smashing the patio door, one ransacked downstairs whilst the other went upstairs. Fortunately a neighbour (picture a rugby prop) realised the situation and attempted to enter the rear of the house in order to tackle them, injuring himself in the process.
The thiefs took flight, smashed a small glass panel in the front door and managed to escape from the house through it, injuring themselves in the process. Lots of blood at the scene. At this point a brave 62 year old neighbour attempted to tackle both men but they escaped. However, they did drop the bag containing mums possessions.
They fled and tried to hide out in a local pub (The Vic) ordered a drink and ordered a taxi. The landlady, who has been able to describe them, was very suspicious and reported them. As police arrived at the pub they fled out a back door, leaving blood stained fingerprints at the scene before escaping over fields.
Despite a police helicopter and 6 or more police vehicles they sadly got away.
The rest of the night was spent with the police. Sat in the cold house all night we have waited for the insurance company to send out the emergency repair team to secure the house but, we still wait. It's now 10am Friday Thursday and they have not yet arrived. Not happy!
It's going to be a long and tiring day.
Thank you for all your words of support.
