Death in the Woods...

A bit macabre this... we went for a walk in Nunn Wood beside the old wartime aerodrome RAF Little Walden really to have a look at the last of the bluebells. They are now well past their best but the wild garlic has just started to flower and fill the air with their pungency.

While we were walking we came across this deer skull that someone had put up on a tree trunk. It looked a bit eerie to say the least... Whatever, it was good luck for me as it provided an excellent subject for todays Mono Monday Challenge... Death in the Woods by Sherwood Anderson, or Bernie Steadman if you prefer.
