Skipped badminton tonight as my badminton buddy wasn't feeling too good, so we went out for dinner at the Station Hotel in Avoch (which is pronounced 'och' for some reason). Well worth a visit and it's prompted another xb review, after the debut review here.
Afterwards, we went to Chanonry Point in search of "stupid, fake dolphins" as the non-believer Amy calls them. One day she will see one!

Station Hotel, Avoch
Trade: Fairly quiet at first, but getting busier as we ate.
Menu choice: Amazing! - I was stuck between six choices for starter and eight for main. In the end, we shared crispy haggis balls and chorizo and haggis terrine to start. Followed by macaroni and steak pie.
Service: Good - shown to table, drinks delivered, apologised for not having ice, check backs during both courses.
Atmosphere: Good - both in the restaurant part and the conservatory. Lots of customers chatting, including families and what appeared to be a first (or early) date couple. Looks to be good in the summer too with a fairly large beer garden, and a garden with kids' toys.
Food: Excellent - The haggis balls were crisp with a tasty peppercorn sauce. The terrine firmer than expected due to the slices of chorizo, but good, and the macaroni cheesy and full of flavour. Big, tasty portions.
Toilets: Unknown - didn't feel the need!
Value for Money: Excellent - several options under £10. We had a local discount card, but wouldn't have felt ripped off paying full price for what we got.
Recommend: Yes
