Lavadora nueva.

The two-and-a-half year old washing machine refused to work, just out of its 2 year warranty - since last year all appliances now have a 3 year cover - grrr.
Despite it being a strapped time of year (annual council tax, massive electricity and water bills etc) there was no option but to buy a new one. The shop had plenty of lavadoras and secadoras (dryers) but this one was labelled "rentadora". It was obviously a washing machine, but was it for rent only maybe? Unheard of these days. The shop assistant helpfully explained that rentadora is the Catalan word for washing machine. It was made in South Korea.
