A zoo at the Zoo
We spent the day at San Diego Zoo. Chris and Landon have an annual membership and go about once a month, this gives two free adult passes which we used otherwise entry was nearly $70 each.
The snake house was first on the agenda followed by a mazy walk around the children’s zoo before lunch. As befitting a child of his age there was much flitting from exhibit to exhibit. Stopping to exclaim at one animal and running past others.
At times he walked and ran, at other times he was carried, occasionally riding in the wagon, all very exhausting especially for his dad. He gave the elephants and giraffes the miss but was entranced by the cheetah.
I think we only saw a small area of the whole zoo and was only able to absorb a little of the information available. Most of what we did read was depressing. Most of the occupants we saw were under various degrees of pressure through our actions, mainly habitat loss and climate change.
I drove home while dad and Landon slept it off in the back. I think dad was asleep before his son. Landon goes back to daycare tomorrow, we see him again after daycare on Wednesday and all day Thursday, the Saturday morning and Sunday morning.
We had a very tasty Thai takeaway when we got back. Good food, not good timing. Despite turning up at the appointed time we had to wait for 40 minutes for the food. Landon meanwhile, was energised by his nap and was having a great time with neighbouring friends out at the back.
