Tiptoeing through the bluebells

Thank you for all the congratulatory comments yesterday about Adam, if he could read this I am sure he would be very grateful.

Today was cooler than yesterday, we had a good walk of almost 2 hours this morning and we enjoyed looking at the bluebells. They seem to be very good this year compared to last year but maybe I am imagining that. I had to get a photo of Xena amongst the bluebells as they make such a pretty background.

After our walk it was time to go meet our friends for lunch. The golf club has a couple of dining domes outside, and I booked to eat in one of them which is great as you have a view over the golf course and feel as if you are outside but are protected from the elements in the dome. Just as well we were in there as it started raining during our lunch and if we were sitting at one of the outside tables we would have got quite wet! As is true of many cafes and restaurants in the UK, the club is really struggling to find staff and our poor waitress was not very experienced - when serving the drinks she tipped the tray downwards and all four glasses slid off the tray and spilled all over the white table cloth. We did not complain, but I suspect she may have got into trouble as we did not see her again. They had to change the entire table setting as the table cloth was soaked through. Despite that, the lunch was lovely and it was good to catch up with our friends.

Now it is a lazy evening watching TV, and tomorrow is a Bank Holiday so no work for Gavin.
