Clearing up

Decided to do a bit of pond maintenance today, mainly clearing the rampant algae, before the flowering plants get too much bigger. I've seen lots of insect life in there recently, which is lovely, but not a single frog or sign of frogspawn. Imagine the surprise I got then when an amphibian jumped out from the water forget-me-not! I may have squealed...

In other garden news, I planted out the sweet peas in the front garden, generally tidied, and sprayed the most enormous number of greenfly on the wee rose bush with mild soapy water (extra) as I can't see any ladybirds and the birds have been no use.
