Globe artichokes, sweet peas and citizenship

Yesterday, I picked the first purple globe artichokes and came home to this beautiful card from my husband (who's been away) to congratulate me for recently securing British citizenship. He bought it in Edinburgh, where we had the joy of living for a decade before moving here.

The sweet pea seeds are a blue cultivar - I know opinions are divided about soaking sweet pea seeds but I find it speeds up germination and I never seem to end up with rotten ones.

I've just sown them. I can't wait to have lots of sweet peas everywhere on the plot. I'm growing 4 different ones this year.
