Country Roads...

...Take Me to the Next Studio...through the rolling hills, around the lake and past the horse farms....

This weekend is the Scugog Studio Tour featuring the artists in an area around Lake Scugog, including the town of Port Perry, just  north of Whitby. Today was sunny, warm and clear - perfect for poking around the countryside going from studio to studio, ...so I packed a lunch and headed out to visit some of the rural studios, deciding to save the ones concentrated in the town for tomorrow...best to take advantage of the good driving weather today. 

It really is inspiring to see what our local artists are up to...everything from pottery to fused glass, painting from realism to abstract, wood turning, photography, leatherwork and jewellery making, fibre arts from weaving to basket making and even to a small wool mill where the fleece is delivered, and made ready to go to the spinners... It was a full and memorable day...and I am quite surprised at how few photos I took! I had permission, but noted that I was always the only one with a camera...and it felt a little weird to be snapping photos......but I made sure I got shots of my favourites....  and came home with a few souvenirs.
