A day mostly spent indoors

After what seems like weeks without rain, the forecasted downpour started very gradually, allowing Bertie and I to have a dry walk, if somewhat overcast. I was drawn to the fresh green growth on this larch, only to discover more of the pink cone buds that I saw for the first time a year ago. I couldn’t resist photographing them again as I think they are so pretty. I also came across a couple of hairy caterpillars (extra). I think they will eventually turn into oak eggar moths.
As the day rapidly turned wet, then wetter, we spent most of it indoors, catching up with indoor jobs which have been neglected recently.
