Diary of an Edinburgher

Fish’n’chips

Elizabeth took Archie out, so we headed into town for lunch. Where to? We eventually decided on good ol’ fish’n’chips. And the best place in town? Bertie’s. We haven’t been there for AGES, in fact, last time, the meals were so humungous, we decided we should really share one meal. That decision was forgotten today, just as well, as the servings are smaller, and therefore much more manageable. Very substantial, still, of course.

We walked into town, and I was delighted to see three cricket matches happening all across the Meadows (you can just see one match in the background here). There were loads of folk taking photos of the blossom, and folk taking photos of the folk taking photos of the blossom, and the musical lady was there again, looking cold.

After lunch, I took the bus home as the expected drizzle had started, but JR had to go into town for something or other.

I read a bit of my new book (The Moth - thanks T) which is great, because it’s short stories. Also watched a bit of the Women’s Six Nations Rugby.

Enjoyed a few episodes of Ozark last night. Gosh, there’s a LOT of swearing! And a LOT of murders!! The central family are truly awful people, but you’re kind of rooting for them - will they outmanoeuvre the cartel?
