Up And Down Day
Dear O'H dear, Lovely Tea Jenny and The Eldest Mini Princess,
This morning, I walked Murphy. The sun was shining in a bright blue sky and the air was filled with the intense symphony of the songbirds.
This afternoon, The Prince and I went through to Greenock for his cousin’s funeral. This is the first funeral I have been to where the parents of the person who died are still alive and I hope it’s the last. It was all the more poignant as it’s the first anniversary of Penny’s death tomorrow.
This evening, we were back to Edinburgh for a night out. We were meeting an old friend of The Prince. She is over from Ireland with her 20 year old son, James, to settle him into a flat as he has a new job as a trainee chef starting tomorrow. Except the flat turned out to be a scam and there was nowhere for him to move into.
And despite all of that, everyone had an absolutely brilliant night. It was a very good way to end the rollercoaster of today.
We may have an addition to our household until James can find something more permanent. I told him that I am happy for him to practise his cooking skills on us. I have always wanted my own chef!
