Traditional last day group photo
The last morning of our games holiday is always a bit rushed somehow. We are required to vacate the properties by 9.30am and normally everyone is itching to get away, but not before we have our traditional group photo. This is the 28th time that we have been gathering for the board games week, although the lineup has changed quite a bit over the years. I think we have attended 24 of them, only missing the very first one and three in the late 90’s when we were in New Zealand visiting my brother and his young family.
It’s been a wonderful week with great weather and the sun shone for us. There are two people missing from the shot as they weren’t staying on-site, and of course me!
After all the goodbyes we headed home, but stopped off at Brockholes nature reserve for an hour or so and then The Walton Fox for a lovely lunch to round off the holiday. We were home for 3pm and after inspecting the garden, unpacking and putting a wash on, I’m now sat watching the deciding frame of one of the World Snooker Championship semi-finals. It’s very exciting. I’ll try and catch up with your journals over the next few days, so please bear with me.
