Duck racing

Today was the annual Farnham Duck Race organised by the Rotary Club. The idea is you sponsor one or more ducks and watch them as they float along the Wey propelled by the flow of the water. There are half a dozen heats and then a grand swim-off. We were blessed with beautiful warm sunshine and Gostrey Meadow was crowded with families enjoying the occasion. Sadly my ducks were also-rans or should that be also-paddles. The mayor was there to start one of the heats, resplendent in his mayoral chain and blue and yellow clothes for Ukraine.
