On fire
There is now a hop on hop off ferry service around Lake Macquarie. T, R (the ancient Mariner) and I have been meaning to do this for ages and we decided to do it today as R is heading off to the Philippines to bring a Yacht to Australia for the Hamilton Island race on Monday. They will sail via Rabaul and they are also planning to do a race in Noumea. He has promised he will not fall overboard and to bring me back a Nautilus shell if he finds one. He says they often find them floating in the sea. He is getting all sorts of orders from other crew members already there, the latest being rollos (ciggy rolling papers) as they were difficult to find.
Well it was overcast when we left this morning and to the South was a big shelf cloud. By the time we did half a circuit, it was raining. We hopped off at Tronno (Toronto) for lunch - delicious quinoa and haloumi salad for me and it was still raining by the time we had done the circuit and arrived back where we started.
I happened to be still by the lake for the sunset which as you can see was a fiery one. This is a 12 portrait image stitched in LR.
Of course now it is a clear sky and I can see the Southern Cross is shining down. Typical.
Oh and the Anzac biscuits were made tonight. The oven was 5C cooler and they were cooked for 5 minutes less in time and are perfect.
