Osprey

I am watching the Finnish WWF site where the camera shows the nest of an Osprey couple. (Both banded.) An egg appeared in the nest two days ago, and now the poor female Osprey is stuck in the nest. She does not have a phone or a laptop or ear phones or even an e-book reader. And the father of the egg is flying around, and I haven't seen once that he would have brought her food. The Osprey eat fish, but if you look closely you can see that the lake is frozen solid with even a thick coat of snow. 

To sit there in the cold wind on the open nest and try to keep that darned egg warm, is pure torture. Where are all the feminist Ospreys!?

1st of May is celebrated as the first day of Spring --- ha ha ha, the temperature is around +7C and below zero at night.
